Three Words that Best Describe Nicole:  Upbeat, Down-to-Earth, Dedicated

Artistry and Special Skills:  Singer, Actor, Dancer, Aspiring Chef

As someone who has spent most of her life in the South, Nicole is going on her third year as a resident of New York City and she absolutely loves it. She just graduated from the Cap21 Conservatory’s 2-Year Professional Musical Theater Program and is now living, working, and auditioning in the city. Prior to making the move to the greatest city on earth, she attended the University of Alabama (roll tide!) and received her B.M. in Vocal Performance and a theater minor.

Childcare Experience:  Nicole has been working with children for as long as she can remember. She started babysitting when she was 16 years old and has loved it ever since. Throughout high school and college, she has worked with children of all ages (mostly 3-12 year olds) in a variety of camps. She has been a camp counselor at Vacation Bible School where she was responsible for a group of about 10 children. She also worked as a camp counselor/teaching assistant at the Alliance Theatre in Atlanta, GA where she helped teach music, choreography, blocking, and theater games. In addition to her camp counselor experience, she has been a nanny for many families. She has experience cooking meals, running errands, transporting the children to various after-school activities, caring for household pets, and tutoring/helping with homework whenever necessary. She loves incorporating her love for performing into the activities she does with the kids. Some of her favorite child-friendly activities are Pinterest-crafting and creating mini musicals.

Personal Interests:  Nicole’s greatest passion in life is musical theater!  She started singing and dancing when she was a toddler and hasn’t stopped since.  She also enjoys music directing, choreographing, and sometimes even writing her own music. While musical theater is where her heart really lies, she also has a lot of experience in the worlds of classical music and opera. When she’s not singing and dancing through life, she enjoys working out, reading, and spending time with friends and family. She is also a foodie at heart, so cooking, eating, watching the Food Network, and trying out new restaurants are some of her favorite things to do.

Personal Quote:  “I fully believe in living life to the fullest and want to seize every opportunity that comes my way. I love meeting and interacting with people from all walks of life and learning as much as I can about the world we live in. This is why I love working with children. As I pass on to them what I know and love, I am continuously learning things from them as well. It truly is such a rewarding thing to do.”
