Maureen (MoMo) L.

Three Words that Best Describe Maureen:  Quirky, Enthusiastic, and Responsible

Artistry and Special Skills:  Singer, Actor, Dancer, Tree Climber, Ghost Storyteller!

MoMo hails from Fort Wayne, Indiana where she and her 4 siblings would put on full scale productions of Broadway musicals in their living room. She obtained her BFA in Musical Theatre at the University of Arizona and spent multiple summers here in New York City honing her craft with THE OPEN JAR INSTITUTE and CARNER & GREGOR’S BARELY LEGAL V.

Childcare Experience:  MoMo has been babysitting since the age of fifteen. A former lifeguard/swim instructor/swim coach, she has been CPR, First Aid, AED, and Oxygen certified for the past seven years through the American Red Cross and Ellis. As the daughter of a special needs preschool teacher, MoMo was provided with many connections to care for children with and without special needs; one family in particular had 4 children all with disabilities including autism, spina bifida, and 2 children were blind. MoMo loves working with children of all ages. She assists in preparing meals, helping with homework, helping with bath time and bedtime duties, as well as basic house cleaning duties. She takes pride in being able to have fun while still remaining safe and in control.

Personal Interests:  MoMo loves crafting! The idea of making something new with your own hands excites her. In addition to knitting, painting, and creating collages MoMo has recently taken up cross stitching. Her ideal day would consist of a little crafting, a good book, and a cozy cup of tea.

Personal Quote:  My Grandad used to say, “When you’re happy, sing. When you’re sad, sing louder!” I try to follow this mantra in all aspects of my life. There is nothing that can’t be fixed by a good song and dance. The arts can teach you, make you laugh, make you fly, they can ground you, they are a light in the dark. So, the next time you are feeling down and out, try singing.
