Lizzie K.

Three words that best describe Lizzie:  Compassionate, Dedicated, Fun

Artistry and Special Skills:  Singer, Actor, Dancer, Piano, Soccer, Outdoors Lover, Unafraid to Fail at Any Craft, Huge Dog Fan

Lizzie grew up in chilly Syracuse New York. Although she will always be an Orangeman at heart, she is a proud graduate of the University of Michigan with a BFA in Musical Theater. She has called New York City home for about 5 years now, and she has also enjoyed performing in more than 30 other cities in US and Canada!

Childcare Experience:  Lizzie started working with children at age 16 at the local JCC where she was a camp counselor and drama teacher for kids the ages of 5-9. Since college, Lizzie has continued to babysit here in New York for all kinds of families with children ranging from 6 months to 16 years, with anywhere from 1-3 kids per family. She has also continued teaching masterclasses in drama and voice both here in New York and at various schools around the country. After living here for half a decade Lizzie knows the ins and outs of the MTA system and can be trusted to get any child to and from home safely and has been known to play fun travel games along the way.  With the kids she has sat for, she has enjoyed experiencing all the city has to offer, from museums, to soccer leagues, to the numerous beautiful parks. She finds it both a responsibility and a privilege to care for a child in New York, and she hopes to impart her creativity, sensitivity and love for music on the children she spends time with.

Personal Interests:  Lizzie is almost always singing or humming. Having grown up in a household with two professional musicians as parents, music is hugely important in her life. Much of her free time is spent with her 5 pound pomeranian who has been told he is cuter than “Boo” and she tends to agree. She is always exploring new ways of staying active, some of which include yoga, hiking, cycling and playing racquetball. With her friends she likes to see shows, support her college sports teams, play board games, go to trivia nights and hopefully read the book in time for her monthly book club meeting. Reading before bed at night is her favorite part of the day!

Personal Quote:  “Children need to be given the opportunity to play. Their silly, boundless imaginations are what help them develop into well-rounded adults and it is remarkable to witness.”
