Katie was born and raised outside of Philadelphia, and fell in love with singing and making people laugh at the ripe old age of 2 years old. She studied musical theatre at Temple University in Philadelphia, and worked extensively in the Greater Philadelphia Theatre scene. Now that she lives in New York, Katie has continue pursuing Musical Theatre, while also throwing herself into the improv and stand up comedy community.

Childcare ExperienceKatie grew up in a neighborhood full of families and started babysitting at a young age. Through theatre, Katie has been an acting teacher and a theatre camp counselor for all ages, and finds immense joy in helping children find their artistic voice, whether through improv, musical theatre, or devising original ensemble work. As a babysitter, Katie brings her high energy and creativity to the table to keep kids excited and engaged with activities that enrich and interest them. She has experience caring for children from newborns to 14 years old, and is capable and flexible with the gear switching that comes with engaging diverse ages. It’s very important to her that children feel safe and comfortable to express themselves, and that they receive tons of positive encouragement, especially when it comes to creative outlets! Even homework can be fun when you come at it from a different angle with the right attitude!

Personal InterestsWhen Katie isn’t writing corny jokes for her stand up act, jamming with her improv team, or singing high C’s, she loves to explore the city on foot. She’s an avid runner, and you can usually find her running all through the trails of Central Park. Katie enjoys knitting and crocheting, and recently picked up needlepoint embroidery. Happily for her roommates, she also loves to bake, and does so often—lately while watching ‘The Great British Baking Show’. Katie also co-founded/co-hosts ‘Twenty Twenty Podcast’—Stories about what famous/inspirational people were doing in their twenties as told by two people in their twenties.
