Isabel P.

Three words that best describe Isabel:  Compassionate, Patient, Joyful

Artistry and special skills:  Acting, Writing, Yoga, Baking

Isabel was born and raised in Dallas, Texas. She graduated from Carnegie Mellon University with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Acting and a minor in Creative Writing, and continues to pursue her dreams acting in NYC and around the country. She speaks Spanish almost fluently, having grown up with her Puerto Rican grandmother in the house, and is a fiercely loyal and loving daughter, sister, and friend.

Childcare experience:  Isabel has been an in-home sitter for over 10 years, and has been both a part-time and full-time nanny for children ranging from ages 0-15. Isabel has also worked as a summer camp counselor for two summers, the first as a personal one-on-one aide to children and adults with special needs (specifically Autism, Aspergers, and Cerebral Palsy), and the second as a counselor for 8th and 9th grade girls, where she was responsible for eight girls 24 hours a day, 6 days a week, and engaged them in group discussions and activities. She loves working with children, and as a theatre artist enjoys learning from their imaginations and creativity. She believes in the individuality of each child – finding out what makes them unique and celebrating that in order to encourage growth in their personal interests and to figure out the best way for them to have fun!

Personal interests:  In addition to theatre, Isabel is an avid reader and writer, and loves storytelling in all forms. She loves exploring new places and traveling, and will take any excuse to be outside in the sunshine! She grew up camping in state and national parks with her dad and sister, and loves to hike. She is also developing her love of cooking and baking, and is always ready to take on a new challenge.

Personal quote:  “What’s comin’ will come and we’ll meet it when it does.” – Hagrid from Harry Potter, J.K. Rowling
